Flatpack, Birmingham’s annual film festival, returns from Thursday 21st March to April fool’s day, encompassing thirty venues in Britain’s second city.

Certainly the most endearing film festival in the UK, Flatpack always presents a wide array of moving image art’s many permutations, and documentary is particularly strong this year, with classics such as the Maysles brothers’ Grey Gardens and Nick Abraham and Jeremy Deller’s The Posters Came from the Walls showing alongside new works including the latter pair’s The Bruce Lacey Experienceand Penny Woolcock’s One Mile Away
